Interesting questions and answers about the pram mobile in advance
A pram mobile is a nice activity for your child to discover and observe on your pram rides. It also trains the baby's spatial vision as well as its hand and eye coordination in a playful way.
Even newborns benefit from a pram mobile. Children who are less than 3 months old cannot yet see with such differentiation. Therefore, using bright colours are ideal for them. Handicraft Material for Pram Mobiles:
Step 1: Experimenting With Beads and Rings
Your handicraft material is laying in front of you? Wonderful! Let's start: Lay out the beads for your stroller mobile in the desired order. Try out different variations until you really like your buggy mobile.
An important note before crafting: Please work carefully and properly. Check each knot several times. A loose knot bears the danger of small parts being swallowed!
Step 2: Attaching the Pacifier Clip
Double the PP-polyester cord so that it's slightly longer than your planned bead strand. Put the cord loop from below through the eye of the pacifier clip. Now string the clip through the loop and tighten the resulting knot.
For easier stringing we're using a little trick: Put the two cord ends together so that one of them protrudes about 2 centimetres. Now melt both ends slightly with a lighter. Use your fingers to press the lower cord end slightly against the protruding one. This way you can string the wooden beads onto the double cord more easily thanks to the protruding end.
Step 3: Stringing the Wooden Beads
Let your children's mobile grow bead by bead: string on the first wooden beads as well as the wooden half ring.
Step 4: Making the Dangling Strand
Now string the short dangling strand from different wooden beads. It will be especially pretty with a motif bead.
For the dangling strand's end we recommend using a safety bead. If you string it with the larger hole pointing outward, you can easily let the knot disappear into it. To do this, make a simple knot with the two ends of the cord in front of the last normal wooden bead. Then string the safety bead. With its smaller opening first, slide the safety bead over the knot. This hidden knot tightens the dangling strand. Now double knot the end of the cord and weld it with the lighter. With the help of tweezers the knot disappears easily into the safety bead.
Step 5: Attaching the Lower Part
Double the rubber band so that it's slightly longer than your prepared bead strand that we will attach to the wooden ring. A length of 30 cm is sufficient.
Make a double knot at the end of the rubber band. Cut the end of the cord carefully with scissors and weld the knot lightly with the lighter. From the other side, string a safety bead with its larger hole facing the knot. Push the knot into the safety bead. Check that the knot is firmly seated in the bead and cannot slip through. The tight knot serves the safety of your child!
If you want to, string more beads behind the safety bead. Before stringing the half ring, don't forget adding a mini wooden ring.
Step 6: Stringing the Ring's Beads
Look forward to this step, because now your pram mobile is really taking shape: String up the lens beads, letter cubes and motif beads one by one – and have fun watching your ring grow. Only string the beads up to the end of the lower bead strand, which you will later connect to the half ring.
The amount of beads required depends on your design and the name's length. The longer the name, the fewer beads should be used. To save length you can also use lenses instead of round beads. This way the ring stays nice and round.
Step 7: Finishing up the Pram Mobile
String the rubber cord through the other hole of the half ring. Then string the same beads above the half ring as on the other side of the ring. Pull the rubber cord slightly and make a double knot. Cut the end of the cord and carefully weld the knot with a lighter. Finally, just push the knot into the safety bead.
Carefully check all knots once again. This is for the safety of your child!
Your individual stroller mobile is ready to use. We wish your child lots of fun playfully learning with its help!
